"If you ask me it all started to go wrong when they got rid of the 1970s and replaced them with those awful 1980s. Since then it's been downhill all the way. I don't know why they couldn't have kept the 1970s, I really don't. If they wanted a change they could have brought back the 1960s for a couple of years, then reinstated the 1970s when they'd had a good rest."

Behind all is the mystery.
There is much beauty to be found in the world, amongst everything else. Yet beauty seems an aberration, a contradiction, not a key to the centre, nor a memorial of something lost.
It is a mystery. One can be in awe of it, and one can be exasperated at the sheer not knowing.
(I thought of all that just now, in the bath. It's rather good, isn't it?)
