Group hug.

We reach out, needing something beyond our tired isolated selves. For the self is vast, but the world is much, much vaster. The self is resourceful but the world easily defeats it. The flood of despair rises. Hey you! Other people! Can you help at all? I'd like to believe I share some of your feelings, I'd like to believe I can help you. Surely empathy can't be completely useless?

(We misunderstand, we disappoint, we hurt each other. That really wasn't the intention. Sorry!)

Maybe at least we could all shout 'HELP!' forlornly together.

I don't know about forlornness... My field (grumpiness) is related but not quite synonymous - so, eat without me; i'll catch up later.

empathy might help, but I am not sure it exists. Therefore our search is probably in vain.
Therefore most of the song lyrics are delusional. Therefore all soapoperasa are delusional.
it's all a hughe missunderstanding. Seems you are searching for answers in all the wrong places.

Paul: And to you, my friend, that's lovely. Incorporating everyone from England to Australia, hopefully.

Your ideas are often postmodern, but to me you seem like a big humanist, as I aspire to be.

Lillipilli The Great: Yes. Shine on.

Jinjir: See you later, pal!

Mariana: I think most of the great thinkers of the human race would disagree. Maybe not Nietzsche, Dawkins or Machiavelli.

I hate soap operas.
